Johnny V uses John Pearse Electric and
Acoustic Guitar strings because of their superior tone
and life. Big Hugs to Mary Faith for inviting me to join the
family, and to Mr. Pearse for making music that much more
enjoyable to play.
Johnny V plays slide on a Fury "Baritone"
guitar and endorses it 100%. Many thanks to Glenn McDougall of Fury
Guitars, Doug Scarrow and Stan Garchinski in Saskatoon. You
are all truly decent human beings. I really appreciate your
collective efforts and this fine Canadian designed and built
instrument.

I finally got to listen to the "Mustard and Relics" and
"Agnostically Eclectic" albums last night, and they are
great. Your newest album is only a hairswidth from being
lethal...it is great!!! I've always loved the way you get
that magic mixture of pure fire and great melody into your
music...Johnny, you are the best! I'm betting that your
early days of ruff-n-tuff street fighting has served to put
more character, more kick, and more feel into your music and
I'm damn sure you didn't get that groove from messing with
skipping ropes and lollipops. I treasure the four albums of
your music that I have. They are truly "the gift of music".
I thank you for those albums Johnny. They will be played and
enjoyed for years to come.....

Real Blues Magazine voted Johnny V Best Canadian Slide
Guitarist 1995, '96 & '97, he was nominated in 1998 as
"Best Blues Guitarist" & "Entertainer of the Year" and
again in 2005 for "Guitarist of the Year" by the Toronto
Blues Society for their Mapleblue Awards, presented the
"1997 Canadian Breakout Artist of the Year" award from The
Motor City Music Awards in Detroit during Bluesfest International. Find out why this virtuoso guitarist,
singer, songwriter and Juno Award winner is considered by
many to be "The True Heavyweight Champion of the Great Blues
North". Johnny's previous CD "Mustard and Relics" garnered
raves and rants and is a must have for anyone who knows what
the guy is all about.

fabulous CD
A few years back in Chicago I had a discussion
with Moto Makino, one of the world's great guitarists. We
were talking about Blues bands and how some - even in
Chicago have come to believe that playing the same
predictable set list of Blues songs is how you revere Blues
legends. I said I found that ridiculous. Blues legends were
innovators who also never lost their respect for the great
players who inspired them. But they still found their own
voices and ultimately moved the music forward as a direct
result. Moto completely agreed. I am particularly proud of
this CD because it so devotedly places seventeen garlands at
the collective headstone of the true geniuses of the Blues,
while not chaining itself there. We can almost hear them
saying: "We're grateful for the respect and all, but do your
own thing man! Lord knows we did." We believe the Blues
legends we are privileged to have still among us
wholeheartedly agree as well. If we have managed to move the
music forward by no more than a molecule, then all our
efforts swim in the same divine grace that inspired - and
continues to inspire - our beloved heroes.
