Greeters
and Sides Persons
Mandate
The role of
the Greeters and Sides Persons is to make the initial contact with
visitors, and to ensure they feel welcome at the Cathedral.
Volunteer
Activities
Greeter and
Sides Persons greet people as they arrive for services, hand out
bulletins, and make visitors feel welcome at the Cathedral. In addition,
Greeters and Sides Persons make certain the bread and wine are placed
in position just prior to the commencement of the service. Greeters
and Sides Persons also assist the wardens with the collection and
complete the "Numbers Present" sheet.
Time Requirement
Three hours
every 4 weeks, on average.
Special Skills
Required
Greets and Sides
Persons must be polite and pleasant. They need to have a good working
knowledge of the Cathedral, and be able to answer questions regarding
the week's services and activities. Greeters and Sides Persons must
be able to communicate with people, ever remembering that listening
is the most important part of communicating.
