2006 Christmas Fundraiser
Charity: Salvation Army
Program: Adopt-a-Family
For our fourth annual adopt-a-family charity drive, we chose the Salvation Army as we felt the families they help would fit our needs perfectly. The funds that the staff members raised were matched by the company to ensure the family had an unforgettable Christmas.
Thru the many generous donations made by staff members, we were able to raise $850.00 in cash. Nucleus matched the cash donations for a total of $1700.00 to spend on the family.
The family we adopted consists of a single Mother and her 3 children (13 year old twin boys and a 5 year old girl). Each child received a bin which included clothing, some hygiene products and plenty of toys to make their Christmas morning extra special. Remote control helicopters and hummers were purchased for the boys along with some gift certificates for music, movies and Old Navy so they can go out and purchase what they would like to round things out. We also threw in a couple of Flames tickets for the boys to go and catch a hockey game in January.
A gift card for Sunridge Mall and Walmart was included to enable the mother to purchase any last minute or needed items. Lastly we provided a gift certificate to their local grocery store so they could buy all the trimmings for an extra special Christmas meal.
Below you will see the mountain of goods that were purchased for them in hopes that this Christmas is a joyous one.
